Cause

cc-switch masks the webdav password as an empty string when writing back sync data. Subsequent client requests to WebDAV return 'Please check WebDAV username/password and directory permissions.' The issue is intermittent: re-entering the password restores connection temporarily, but subsequent sync write-backs may clear it again.

When automatic sync is enabled for the same WebDAV source on both Windows and macOS, uploads may trigger even without local changes, and data may not fully sync between ends. This can also cause loss of other configs like Codex API request addresses, which is a variant of the same sync write-back issue. The maintainer confirmed the issue is fixed and will be included in the next release.

Fix

  1. Re-enter the WebDAV password and save. Users report that re-entering the password temporarily restores connectivity without needing special directory permission adjustments.

  2. Upgrade to the fixed version of cc-switch: The maintainer confirmed the issue stems from masking during write-back and has fixed it; it will be released in the next version.

  3. Before the fixed version is released, avoid enabling automatic sync for the same WebDAV source simultaneously on Windows and macOS. Simultaneous multi-end sync triggers uploads without local changes, causes incomplete data sync, and may lead to loss of Codex API request addresses.

Does this WebDAV error only occur with InfiniCloud?
