Cause

cc-switch provider management cannot currently connect a Gemini endpoint as a Claude Code provider. Adding a Gemini provider gets a 404, or an explicit statement that Claude Code does not support Gemini. The discussion also notes that an ordinary API relay provider cannot be used directly — it needs endpoint conversion capability like CCR — and the cc-switch local proxy feature is still under development.

The cluster also holds feedback about a "several installations detected" diagnostic on Windows, but that is an install diagnostic detection problem rather than the same failure as Gemini provider support, so this page covers only Gemini providers not being addable or supported.

Fix

  1. Do not add Gemini as a Claude Code provider in cc-switch — Claude Code does not support Gemini at present.

  2. If you need a proxy or endpoint conversion, use the third-party project claude-code-router for now, though it cannot proxy Codex or Gemini either.

  3. Wait for a later cc-switch version to provide local proxy / endpoint conversion, then try configuring Gemini.
